PASADENA: Comedy Central has ordered the weekly animated series Moonbeam City and the scripted show Big Time in Hollywood, FL.

Moonbeam City is created and executive produced by Scott Gairdner (Conan, Funny or Die), and is executive produced by Olive Bridge Entertainment's Will Gluck and Richard Schwartz. Rob Lowe also serves as a producer, along with being part of the voice cast, which also includes Elizabeth Banks, Will Forte and Kate Mara. The ten-episode series is set to premiere in 2015. It presents an absurdist take on the gritty, sex-drenched crime dramas from the 1980s.

“I was hoping for 10,000 episodes, but 10 is a good start," said Gairdner.

“Had Scott just asked, we would have given him a 10,000 episode order. Oh well, lesson learned for him,” added Kent Alterman, the president of conent development and original programming at Comedy Central.

Big Time in Hollywood, FL is a half-hour series produced by Red Hour and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. It is executive produced and written by Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf, along with Red Hour's Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein, and Brillstein's Lee Kernis and Brian Stern. Anfanger will also star in the series, along with Lenny Jacobson, Kathy Baker, Stephen Tobolowsky and Jon Bass. Big Time in Hollywood, FL follows two delusion brothers and self-proclaimed filmmakers who are kicked out of their parents' house and forced to fend for themselves for the first time ever.

“Ben, Alex and Dan have fulfilled my career-long dream of having a show based in Hollywood, FL,” said Alterman.

Big Time combines the directorial style of Hitchcock, the acting prowess of Streep, the budget of House of Payne, and the nutritional value of Velveeta. I think people's minds will be blown wide open. For real," said Stiller.
