NEW YORK: Mindshare, GroupM’s worldwide media agency network, has hired Colin Kinsella as its new CEO for North America, effective July 15.

Kinsella will take the place of Antony Young, who is transitioning to global business projects and development. He will work under Nick Emery, the global CEO of Mindshare. His duties include overseeing and operating all of Mindshare’s activities in five U.S. cities and Canada, while also supervising an agency with hundreds of employees.

Most recently, Kinsella served as the CEO for North America at Digitas, where he handled growth, innovation and collaboration in the region. Before that he was the global chief innovation officer for Razorfish.

"Our challenge as a business is to realize media’s potential to be our client’s lead business partner," remarked Emery. "Everything begins and ends in media, and Colin’s leadership will ensure that Mindshare is a business partner above and beyond the conventional."

"I want to thank Antony for leading North America for the past 20 months and for his many contributions to the success of our agency," Emery continued. "He did excellent work, bringing us a fresh perspective and new ideas."

"I’m very excited about this new opportunity," added Kinsella. "I’ve admired Mindshare for years and am a big believer in the agency’s goal of becoming their clients’ lead business partner. Their adaptive marketing perspective is tailor made to lead in this new era of utilizing real-time consumer data to rapidly initiate, alter and optimize client marketing efforts."
