CMT Alum to Lead Programming Strategy for Lifetime & LMN

LOS ANGELES: Katie Buchanan has been named senior VP of programming strategy and scheduling for Lifetime and LMN.

In her new role, Buchanan will report to Christian Drobnyk, the senior VP of strategy, scheduling and acquisitions. Prior to joining Lifetime and LMN, Buchanan was the senior VP of programming strategy and acquisitions for CMT. At CMT, she was in charge of programming strategy, scheduling, on-air promotional media planning, research analysis and multiplatform and digital scheduling, as well as all acquisitions for the network. In addition to her role at CMT, Buchanan oversaw the acquisition coordination for other Viacom brands, including Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TeenNick and TV Land.

Buchanan has also worked at NBCUniversal and Comcast’s The Style Network, where she led the programming and acquisitions strategy. Earlier in her career, she was part of VH1’s West Coast original movie and series group. Buchanan began her career at MTV Networks working for VH1 in the on-air promotions group.
