CBS Slates Comedic Thriller BrainDead for Summer 2016

STUDIO CITY: Next summer, CBS is slated to begin airing BrainDead, a new comic-thriller series starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead that comes from Robert and Michelle King, the creators and exec producers of The Good Wife.

Set in Washington, D.C., BrainDead centers on Laurel, who, while helping her brother run his senate office, discovers that the government has stopped working and aliens are eating the brains of congressmen and Hill staffers. The show stars Winstead, who is know for her roles in such horror films as Final Destination 3, Black Christmas, Death Proof, The Thing and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, among other movies and TV series. It is produced by CBS Television Studios and will be distributed domestically and globally by CBS Television Distribution and CBS Studios International, respectively.

"We've been fans of Mary going back to Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, but it was really her extraordinary work in Smashed and Alex of Venice that had us imagining Laurel's lines coming out of her mouth," said Robert and Michelle King. "She's fantastic at mixing comedy and drama, and keeping it all vulnerable, yet real. We can't wait to see what she does with Laurel."
