MONTREAL: Zone3, which is behind productions such as Match Game and God, Guns & Automobiles, has opened an office in New York, appointing Julian Locke as executive VP and head of U.S. operations.

The company currently has several projects in development for both Canadian and U.S. broadcasters, and is looking to create and produce even more English-language TV programming.

Locke was formerly on the senior management team of Leopard Films UK, and was instrumental in its growth in the U.S. Executive producers Michael Kronish and Isabelle-Anouk Bourduas will team up with Locke, and together they will form the unit responsible for English-language productions.

“By having a presence in the United States, we want to speed up our growth,” said Michel Bissonnette, the president of Zone3. “Julian has my full trust. His creative sense and his management abilities will allow him, I am certain, to reach the objectives that we have established.”

Locke commented, “Zone3 is known for the great quality of its productions and its creativity. I am certain that the company has all that it takes to secure an enviable position in the United States and in the English-Canadian market. I am excited to start working.”
