LOS ANGELES: Brian Robbins has stepped down as CEO of AwesomenessTV, the global entertainment media brand for Generation Z that he co-founded.

AwesomenessTV, which is owned by Comcast, Hearst and Verizon, makes original programming available across mobile and streaming services, web destinations and broadcast networks. Robbins, a producer/creator/director whose credits include One Tree Hill, Smallville, All That and Varsity Blues, co-founded the company with Joe Davola in 2012.

Robbins’ resignation comes less than a year after Comcast’s NBCUniversal finalized its purchase of DreamWorks Animation, AwesomenessTV’s parent company.
