Breaking Bad Leads SAG Awards TV Nominations

LOS ANGELES: Breaking Bad scored four nominations for the 20th annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, followed by 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Homeland and Modern Family with three nods each.

The nominees for outstanding performance by an actor in a drama series are Steve Buscemi for Boardwalk Empire, Bryan Cranston for Breaking Bad, Jeff Daniels for The Newsroom, Peter Dinklage for Game of Thrones and Kevin Spacey for House of Cards. Female performance nominees for drama series are Claire Danes for Homeland, Anna Gunn for Breaking Bad, Jessica Lange for American Horror Story: Coven, Maggie Smith for Downton Abbey and Kerry Washington for Scandal. The nominees for best best drama series ensemble are the casts of Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones and Homeland.

In the TV comedy category, male performance nods went to Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock, Jason Bateman for Arrested Development, Ty Burrell for Modern Family, Don Cheadle for House of Lies and Jim Parsons for The Big Bang Theory. Comedic TV actress nominees are Mayim Bialik for The Big Bang Theory, Julie Bowen for Modern Family, Edie Falco for Nurse Jackie, Tina Fey for 30 Rock and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Veep. 30 Rock was among the shows whose cast is nominated for best ensemble performance in a comedy series, alongside Arrested Development, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and Veep.

Actors nominated for their starring roles in a TV movie or mini-series are Matt Damon and Michael Douglas for Behind the Candelabra, Jeremy Irons for The Hollow Crown, Rob Lowe for Killing Kennedy and Al Pacino for Phil Spector. The female nominees in the category are Angela Bassett for Betty & Coretta, Helena Bonham Carter for Burton and Taylor, Holly Hunter for Top of the Lake, Helen Mirren for Phil Spector and Elisabeth Moss for Top of the Lake.

By network, HBO scored the most nominations by a long shot, with 13. AMC and Showtime racked up five each, while ABC scored 4. CBS, NBC and Netflix each garnered three nominations.
