LONDON: Independent production company Blink Films is setting up a U.S. office, with newly appointed senior VP of development Brad Kohlenstein heading its East Coast operations.

Kohlenstein joins Blink Films from Discovery Communications, where he served as VP of development for Science Channel. At Blink, he will be in charge of growing the company’s U.S. presence and partnerships. He will work closely with Blink’s executive team, which is made up of Dan Chambers, Justine Kershaw and Sarah Sapper in London. Additionally, Kohlenstein will be responsible for developing and producing shows for U.S. networks, while also looking for co-production opportunities for global content.

Chambers and Kershaw remarked: “Brad has a track record in producing globally renowned factual programming and we are delighted to have attracted someone of his caliber as we expand our presence in the U.S. We are confident that he will help to rapidly build the company’s roster of productions for both a domestic and international audience.”

Kohlenstein commented: “Blink Films has an incredible reputation for smart, high-quality programming and I am excited to be joining the company as it launches in the U.S. My experience at Science Channel combined with Blink’s pedigree will underpin the production slate as the company enters its next phase of evolution.”
