LOS ANGELES: MGM has signed BermanBraun to a multi-year production deal that will encompass scripted and unscripted programming across broadcast and cable television.

BermanBraun was founded by former U.S. network heads Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun. Its credits include NBC’s upcoming Camp, HGTV’s Garage Sale Wars, Showtime’s Polyamory, and two additional new series to be produced with MythBusters stars Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage for Discovery Channel. The pact comes as MGM looks to increase its TV output, which includes HISTORY’s Vikings, MTV’s Teen Wolf and an upcoming series based on Fargo.

The pair will work with Roma Khanna, the president of the television group and digital at MGM Television, and with Steve Stark, MGM’s president of television production.

“We are excited to be in business with BermanBraun, who are proven producers in the television industry and will be integral to our strategy of developing high quality programming,” said Gary Barber, the chairman and CEO of MGM. “Gail and Lloyd have made an indelible impact in the television and digital space by producing innovative content seen over multiple platforms. We are thrilled to partner with them to bring new TV content to our broadcast partners around the globe.”

Khanna added, “BermanBraun are prolific creators who embrace the future of television and we look forward to working with them as we continue to grow our television businesses.

In a joint statement, Berman and Braun said the MGM deal provided "an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a team who embraces innovative concepts and new paradigms in this fast shifting landscape."

MGM has also signed BermanBraun to a first-look deal on all theatrical projects they are developing.
