STUDIO CITY: Hallmark Channel has renewed Good Witch, an original prime-time scripted series starring Catherine Bell, for a 12-episode second season.

Good Witch is based on the Hallmark Channel movie franchise also starring Bell. The show, made by Whizbang Films Production, is distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment outside of North America. The second season is slated to begin airing with a two-hour premiere in the fall, followed by ten additional episodes early next year.

Michelle Vicary, the executive VP of programming and publicity for Crown Media Family Networks, noted: “Our viewers have fallen in love with Catherine Bell and her enchanting journey, as well as her talented co-stars, James Denton and Bailee Madison. After seeing the tremendously overwhelming response to the series, there was no question that Good Witch would be renewed for a second season. I am also delighted to announce that Cassie Nightingale will bring her essence and magical charms this fall with a special two-hour presentation as an early treat to our beloved fans.”

Co-stars Bell and Denton are currently in Cannes to promote Good Witch at this week’s MIPTV.
