Amy Powell Named President of Paramount Television

LOS ANGELES: Amy Powell is expanding her role at Paramount to include responsibilities as president of its recently established TV division.

For the past two years Powell has been leading Paramount’s digital arm. She also oversees Insurge Pictures, which is a Paramount Pictures initiative aimed at distributing movies that are "unique and invigoratingly fun."

In her new role as president of Paramount Television, Powell will report to Brad Grey, the chairman and CEO of Paramount. She also holds on to her role at Insurge Pictures.

“Amy has proven herself to be a highly-talented, innovative and creative executive,” said Grey. “Her skill and experience working across all platforms, at engaging audiences, and, most recently her work at Insurge, will be instrumental as we build a versatile television operation.”
