Amazon Studios Unveils Trio of Projects

SEATTLE: Amazon Studios, which launched in November 2010 by opening submissions to the public, has signed up three Hollywood producers for its new film projects.

Denise Di Novi (Crazy, Stupid, Love; The Nightmare Before Christmas) will produce Touching Blue. The script is about a woman who can track people based on what they’ve touched. She also feels intense pain when someone touches her. Bill Gerber (Gran Torino, The Dukes of Hazzard) is attached to Original Soldiers, the story of an old-school strike force that has to save the day after the humans’ droid defense force is disabled. Edward Saxon (Adaptation, Silence of the Lambs) is producing Children of Others, the story of a woman who takes her last chance at a fertility clinic and finds out that her unborn child may be the first wave of an alien invasion.

Touching Blue is from a Best Script award winner, Scott Mullen. Original Soldiers is based on a short created by the Amazon Studios team. Children of Others is also from a Best Script winner, Barrington Smith-Seetachit.
