Amazon Studios Orders Two New Pilots

SEATTLE: Amazon Studios has greenlit two new pilots, The Cosmopolitans with Adam Brody and Chloë Sevigny and Marc Foster's Hand of God, as part of its third pilot season debuting later this year on Amazon Instant Video.

As with past pilot seasons, customers will watch the shows, provide feedback and decide which will be turned into full series made available on the online service Prime Instant Video. Additional pilots will be announced in the coming weeks.

The dramedy The Cosmopolitans features a cast led by Adam Brody and Chloë Sevigny as young American expats in Paris searching for love and friendship. Whit Stillman writes, directs and produces that pilot, which begins shooting in Paris this week.

Filmmaker Marc Forster makes his television debut with Hand of God, starring Ron Perlman as a hard-living, law-bending married man who goes on a vigilante quest to find the rapist who tore his family apart. Forster and Perlman exec produce, along with series writer Ben Watkins, Brian Wilkins and Jeff King. Jillian Kugler co-exec produces. The pilot also begins filming this week in the Los Angeles and Long Beach areas.

“We’re very pleased to be working with Whit, Ron, Ben and Marc on developing these pilots,” said Roy Price, the director of Amazon Studios. “The Cosmopolitans and Hand of God both contain rich stories and deep characters that we think customers will really enjoy. I’m looking forward to seeing our customers’ reactions when they debut.”
