Amazon Begins Offering Prime Video as Standalone Monthly Service

SEATTLE: Amazon has launched a new $8.99 monthly plan for its Prime Video streaming service in the U.S., which was previously only available as part of a larger $99 annual package.

As of yesterday, users who just want to take Amazon Prime Video can sign up for a monthly $9 package, unbundled from the full Prime subscription. For those who do still want the additional benefits of a Prime membership, but don’t want to make the full-year commitment, Amazon is also now offering a month-to-month pricing plan, at $11 per month.
