LOS ANGELES: Alcon Entertainment has hired Laura Lancaster, who previously served as executive VP of drama programming at NBC Entertainment, as president of its TV group.

Lancaster will report to Alcon Entertainment co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. Alcon recently scored a second season order for its Syfy drama The Expanse, and the company also financed and produced the Alex Gibney doc Frank Sinatra: All or Nothing.

At NBC Entertainment, Lancaster was in charge of drama development and current programming for NBC and Universal Television Studio. She also previously served as senior VP of drama development at FOX, and was senior VP of drama and cable programming at NBC Universal Television Studio.

“Laura is a true talent; her impressive track record of profitable and creative shows speaks for itself, and we are excited for her to bring her vast expertise at Alcon,” Johnson and Kosove said.

“I’ve been a fan of Alcon’s for many years, and have watched how Andrew and Broderick have created an extensive and diverse library of feature films with great admiration,” said Lancaster. “I feel fortunate to join the Television Group at such a remarkably productive and successful time.”
