LOS ANGELES: ABC is bringing to series Big Fan, a half-hour comedic game show based on the Who Knows…? segment from Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Andy Richter will serve as host, while Jimmy Kimmel teams with Banijay Studios North America to produce. Each half-hour episode of the studio-based game show will feature one celebrity and three of his or her biggest super fans. The super fans will go head-to-head to see who knows more about the episode’s featured celebrity. The succeeding super fan will move on to the final round in an ultimate showdown, celebrity vs. super fan, to see who knows most about the celebrity. If the super fan wins, their prize is a priceless experience with the celebrity they admire most.

“This show is a lot of fun,” said Kimmel. “Andy Richter is a great host, and I can’t think of a better way to terrify celebrities.”

“Night after night, Jimmy Kimmel Live delivers a slew of great comic bits. There were many to choose from, but Who Knows…? featuring Katy Perry stood out as one that could be expanded into a really unique comedic game show concept that gives fans at home a chance to be part of the experience,” stated David Goldberg, Banijay Group’s president and Banijay Studios North America CEO. “Thankfully, Jimmy and ABC agree. Collaborating with Jimmy and Andy, two of the funniest people on television, on our first game-show format under the new Banijay Studios North America banner, is very exciting.”
