ABC Family Gives Go-Ahead to Workplace Comedy

BURBANK: ABC Family has greenlit Kevin from Work, an original single-camera comedy series written, created and exec produced by Barbie Adler (How I Met Your Mother).

Kevin from Work centers on a young man who declares his love for a co-worker after he accepts another job that winds up falling through, forcing him to awkwardly return to his old job. The half-hour show stars Noah Reid (Backpackers), Paige Spara, Matt Murray (Rookie Blue), Jordan Hinson (Eureka) and Punam Patel. It is slated to begin production this June for broadcast later in the summer. Executive producing alongside Adler are Aaron Kaplan at Kapital Entertainment and McG at Wonderland Sound & Vision.

Karey Burke, the network's executive VP of programming and development, commented: "Single camera represents the evolution of our comedy brand. Kevin from Work is an endearingly awkward love story—this time from the guy's point of view."
