ABC Commits to Another Season of American Idol Reboot

ABC has renewed the new iteration of American Idol for a sophomore season, with Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie returning as judges.

The second installment of American Idol is slated for broadcast on ABC Television Network in the U.S. during the 2018-19 season. Producer Ryan Seacrest is on board to come back as host of the singing competition series.

American Idol is produced by FremantleMedia North America and CORE Media Group’s 19 Entertainment. The show is distributed by FremantleMedia International around the globe.
