The company has also promoted Michael Rothman, tapping him for the role of VP of physical production; he will report to Westin. Michael Meilander has been appointed to the role of director of physical production and will report to Rothman.

In her new role, Westin will lead the physical production team, building on MarVista’s growth of original films, series and other forms of entertainment content for worldwide content platform partners. She will also oversee production finance and post-production. Westin will report to MarVista’s COO, Tony Vassiliadis. Prior to joining MarVista in 2017, Westin served as an independent producer on a bevy of films, including MarVista’s Maggie Kiley-directed Caught, which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and stars Anna Camp.

Rothman joined MarVista in 2018 as director of physical production from Comcast NBCUniversal, at which he had served as VP of production management for nearly four years, spearheading production management for Esquire Network and serving as the point person for E! Entertainment’s scripted programming. Rothman also produced and edited the independent feature film The Least Likely Candidate.

A ten-year production veteran, Meilander has produced and line-produced over 30 movies for various channels and platforms, including Netflix, Showtime, SYFY and Lifetime. His credits include Sex, Death and Bowling, starring Adrian Grenier and Selma Blair, and Fear, Inc. with Lucas Neff and Caitlin Stasey.

“With the significant increase of our development and production pipeline over the past few years, it’s crucial for us to create a physical production division in support of our rapid expansion,” commented Fernando Szew, CEO of MarVista. “With Jennifer leading the team, we are in a position to provide efficient, cost-effective, centralized and superior levels of service to both the creative community and content platforms worldwide. And we are intentionally setting MarVista up for ongoing growth, expanding our physical production footprint around the world. International and cross-border productions is an area of growth for us and it has started to take shape through our strategic partnerships with Neshama Entertainment in Canada and Hemisphere Media Group in Latin America.”
