HBO has picked up the drama Euphoria to series, with both Drake and Future the Prince joining the project as executive producers.

Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship. All episodes are being written by Sam Levinson. Euphoria is based on the Israeli series of the same name from HOT that was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. A24 is producing, and Zendaya, best known for her role as K.C. on the hit Disney Channel series K.C. Undercover, is attached to star.

Meanwhile, HBO Documentary Films has acquired worldwide TV and streaming rights to At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal, exploring the sexual abuse scandal that shook the sports world in 2017. Based on years of research by producers David Ulich and Dr. Steven Ungerleider, and directed by Erin Lee Carr (HBO’s Mommy Dead and Dearest and Thought Crimes: The Case of the Cannibal Cop), the film depicts a landscape in which women spend their youth seeking victory on a world stage, juxtaposed against a culture where abuse prevails and lives are damaged forever. The doc will debut in 2019 on HBO.
