AMC Networks’ Joel Stillerman Tapped as Hulu’s Chief Content Officer

Joel Stillerman, the former president of original programming and development at AMC and SundanceTV, will join Hulu in the newly created role of chief content officer.

Stillerman will be responsible for evolving and driving the overall content strategy for Hulu and will oversee content acquisitions, originals development and content partner management teams. He will join Hulu’s senior management team this summer and will report directly to CEO Mike Hopkins.

During his near-decade-long tenure at AMC Networks, Stillerman spearheaded an aggressive development slate for AMC, including The Walking Dead, as well as Fear the Walking Dead, Better Call SaulInto the Badlands and The Night Manager.

Craig Erwich will maintain his current role as Hulu’s senior VP and head of content, and he will increase his focus on the company’s original programming.

Over the past several years, we’ve grown our audience and our content offering exponentially, and now is the right time to add Joel’s creative and strategic leadership to the team and drive the next phase of Hulu’s content business.”
