Latest Seasons of Detectorists, Vera to Stream on Acorn TV

SILVER SPRING: The U.S. streaming service Acorn TV has picked up a second season of the British comedy Detectorists and a sixth run of the drama Vera.

Season six of the detective drama Vera launches on the service on March 21. It stars Brenda Blethyn (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, Secrets & Lies) as a cantankerous but brilliant detective who solves unthinkable crimes in northeast England. ITV premiered season six in the U.K. in late January.

Season two of Detectorists will be made available on Acorn TV starting April 4. Detectorists stars Mackenzie Crook (Game of Thrones, The Office, Pirates of the Caribbean), who also wrote and directed the series. The show’s second season debuted in the U.K. on BBC Four in October 2015.
