LOS ANGELES: Nancy Tellem, a former top exec at CBS and Microsoft, has been hired as executive chairman and chief media officer of Interlude, a media and tech company specializing in interactive online video storytelling.

Tellem previously served as the president of the CBS Network Television Group and later, at Microsoft, as corporate VP and president of Xbox Entertainment Studios. At Interlude, she will be leading the executive team and will also be responsible for fostering relationships with the Hollywood creative community as the company expands beyond its early success in music. Interlude is focused on building up its presence in the space of interactive online video storytelling. Its current partners include, among others, Nickelodeon Disney, Pepsi and Warner Music Group.

"We are reimagining video for a generation that wants to do more than just watch passively, which is why we are focused on amazing experiences that are both playful and thought provoking. Nancy shares our passion and has the vision to build off our current success,” said Yoni Bloch, founder and CEO at Interlude. “We are very fortunate to have someone of her stature to guide our company’s growth.”

Tellem added, “I believe Interlude is at the leading edge of entertainment; their videos have been watched, shared, re-watched and awarded, proving just how much viewers want to participate. Their creative talent and mastery of interactive technology is a game changer and I look forward to extending Interlude’s reach to the entertainment industry by bringing film and television creators on board.”
