NEW YORK: MTV launched a world premiere look at Scream, a TV reimagining of the hit horror franchise of the same name, and The Shannara Chronicles, a fantasy drama, at its 2015 Upfront presentation this week in New York.

Scream follows a group of teens after a cyber-bullying incident that resulted in a brutal murder. The series is a co-production between MTV and The Weinstein Company's Dimension TV. It is slated to begin airing on June 30 at 10 p.m.

The Shannara Chronicles is an epic TV event based on the best-selling books about three teens on a mission to stop an evil demon army from destroying the world. The show is being produced by MTV with Sonar Entertainment. It is currently filming in New Zealand.

Other new productions slated for broadcast on MTV include One Bad Choice (July 9 at 11 p.m.), which shows how a single mistake can change a life forever; Todrick (August 31 at 10 p.m.), a docuseries about YouTube sensation Todrick Hall; and Girl Code Live (August 31 at 10:30 p.m.), a late-night talk show led by the ladies from Girl Code. There are also Follow the Rules, a comedic docuseries focused on the family life of rapper Ja Rule; Middle of the Night Show, a reinvention of the late-night talk show; and Greatest Party Story Ever, an animation/live-action hybrid spotlighting outrageous tales. MTV has also inked a development deal for The Logan Paul Show, a tentatively titled, loosely-scripted comedy series chronicling the titular character and his real-life brother's rise to fame.

Among the returning series premieres are Girl Code (June 3 at 10 p.m.), Teen Wolf (June 29 and 30 at 10 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively), Catfish: The TV Show (July 8 at 10 p.m.), Teen Mom 2 (July 9 at 10 p.m.), Awkward (August 31 at 9 p.m.) and Faking It (August 31 at 9:30 p.m.). There is also the new season of America's Best Dance Crew: Road to the VMAs, due to debut on July 29 at 11 p.m., which will feature hip-hop star T-Pain, G.O.O.D. Music recording artist Teyana Taylor and TV/Broadway performer Frankie Grande as judges, and Jason Dundas (Entertainment Tonight) as host.

Renewed titles include Are You The One? (season 3), Broke A$$ Game Show (season 2), Faking It (season 3A) and The Challenge (season 27).

"We're exploding our development process across screens—getting faster, more daring, putting more projects into play and taking bigger swings than ever," said Stephen Friedman, president of MTV. "We've exponentially expanded the ways we connect with our audience and deliver for our advertisers."

"This slate demonstrates the creative breadth of what MTV can do—epic scripted dramas, irreverent comedies, inventive format-driven series, fun topical talk shows, all with a distinct, youthful voice," added Susanne Daniels, president of programming for MTV.
