TV5MONDE USA HD Increases Footprint

LOS ANGELES: Charter Communications has launched the French-language entertainment channel TV5MONDE USA HD in Fort Worth, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and Reno, Nevada.

July programming highlights on the 24/7 network include the films Shanghai Blues, Nouveau Monde, which tells the story of a man who must choose between moving to Shanghai or losing his job; La voleuse, focused on a woman who kidnaps the child she abandoned years ago; Les Pee-Wee 3D, about a boy who joins a pee-wee hockey team after the death of his mother; Muertres à Saint-Malo, which follows the investigation of a body showing signs of torture inflicted by 17th century pirates; and La Nouvelle Blanche Niege, about a man whose new wife tries to take his money after he mysteriously slips into a coma. There will also be daily coverage of the Tour de France championship through July 27.

Later this year, TV5MONDE USA HD is slated to begin airing in parts of Alabama, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin.
