MarVista & CCI Enter Development, Distribution Partnership

LOS ANGELES/TORONTO: MarVista Entertainment and CCI Entertainment are planning to co-develop new programming together and also co-distribute select existing content.

MarVista will co-distribute around 200 hours of CCI's catalogue, including factual and lifestyle series as well as movies and documentaries. The two will also be exploring co-production opportunities on a range of entertainment projects.

At MIPTV, MarVista will debut CCI's latest doc series, Cubicle to the Cage, in which a group of ordinary people go on an extraordinary personal and physical journey to train as Mixed Martial Arts fighters. MarVista is also going to offer the series as a format. Other CCI titles that MarVista will present at MIPTV include the science doc series Ancient Clues, the cooking-dating game show Cooking for Love, the travel-food series Avventura and the lifestyle show In Dreams. Also falling under the deal are, among others, Pet Project, Stylin' Gypsies and Failing Better Now.

“MarVista is always exploring new opportunities to increase its content pipeline with quality programming, which appeals to a broad and diverse global audience,” said Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista. “CCI’s programming spans all genres, from contemporary lifestyle to science and travel, engaging game shows, telefilms and documentaries, and we believe our buyers will be very interested in the CCI library. We’re very happy to be partnering with our good friends at CCI and look forward to collaborating with them on the development of new programming concepts.”

“We are really excited to be working with Marvista and feel like it is a really great fit with our development and distribution strategy,” said Arnie Zipursky, CCI's co-chairman and CEO. “I have a long-standing relationship with the founders of the company as colleagues and great friends. We know the CCI library will be well represented by their team, and we are looking forward to further additional initiatives that have sprouted from the partnership.”
