NBCU to Offer Most Extensive U.S. Coverage of Winter Olympics Ever

STAMFORD: NBCUniversal (NBCU) is slated to broadcast more than 1,539 hours of content surrounding the upcoming Olympic Winter Games, marking the most U.S. coverage in the history of the event.

The programming will be shown on NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, MSNBC, USA Network and NBCOlympics.com. It will begin on NBC at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, the day before the Opening Ceremony, and will end with the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, February 23. Prime-time and late night coverage on NBC will be presented by veteran Olympic host Bob Costas.

The breakdown of programming on the five NBCU channels includes 185 hours on NBC; 230 on NBCSN; 36 on CNBC; 45 on MSNBC; and 43 on USA Network. The NBC Olympics website will feature more than 1,000 hours of live-streaming content surrounding all Winter Games competitions, as well as event rewinds and video highlights.

This year's XXII Olympic Winter Games are being held in Sochi, Russia.
