LOS ANGELES: John Landgraf, currently the president and general manager of FX Networks and FX Productions, has been upped to CEO, a role that sees him, among other responsibilities, overseeing the launch of FXX.

Landgraf will continue to report to Peter Rice, the chairman and CEO of Fox Networks Group, in his new role. As CEO, Landgraf will be overseeing the entertainment and business operations across FX, FXM (formerly Fox Movie Channel), the upcoming FXX as well as FX Productions. He will also be responsible for FX Networks’ digital VOD platform, FXNOW. He joined FX as president of entertainment back in January 2004. He took over the president and GM role in May 2005.

“John’s integrity, creativity and leadership have made FX a home for fearless writers, actors and directors,” said Rice. “He has also formed a close-knit team of exceptional executives who are together enjoying an amazing run of creative and business success. Everyone at Fox is excited to see our valued colleague receive this richly deserved promotion.”

“All of us at FX Networks are grateful for the tremendous vote of confidence Peter Rice and News Corporation have shown us through their steadfast support and investment in our ambitious programing expansion,” added Landgraf. “The FX executive team and the gifted artists who create our fearless brand of programming are brilliant, and it is a great privilege to continue on this journey with all of them.”
