Open Road Films to Rep XLrator Media Titles for Free & Pay TV

LOS ANGELES: Open Road Films has inked a deal to market and sell XLrator Media titles to pay- and free-TV outlets, as well as certain SVOD carriers.

Titles released by XLrator Media, a multiplatform company established in 2010, include such independent genre films as Ironclad, John Carpenter’s The Ward, Bunraku, 96 Minutes, Assassin’s Bullet, We the Party, Allegiance, Thale and Storm Surfers 3D, among others. XLrator Media and Open Road Films have already sold a number of properties to several outlets, and are collectively looking for strategic co-acquisitions that they can co-release.

"XLrator has cultivated a powerful niche in the content world that has strong appeal in the pay-television and free-television arena," stated Tom Ortenberg, the CEO of Open Road Films. "We are pleased to be able to deliver these new titles to our existing partners in the television universe."

Barry Gordon, the CEO of XLrator Media, added: "Open Road personifies the best qualities of a studio releasing brand and a major distribution franchise. The XLrator-Open Road partnership will provide access to a wide-lane for our top-quality, elevated genre films and programs to larger sales channels and new audiences."
