BURBANK: Andrew Kubitz has become ABC Entertainment Group’s new executive VP of programming, planning and scheduling, joining the network from a scheduling role at CBS Television.

Kubitz will work under Paul Lee, the president of ABC Entertainment Group. He will be responsible for managing daytime, primetime and late-night programming and scheduling. He will also oversee film acquisition and theatrical inventory. In addition, he will be in charge of multiplatform windowing strategies for the company’s programming.

Since 2010 Kubitz served as the senior VP of programming, planning and scheduling for CBS Television, where he performed duties very similar to the ones he is tasked with for his new position. He first started working for CBS as a page in late 1994.

"Andy’s appointment brings a fresh perspective and a strategic sensibility to our planning and scheduling efforts, joining a team that is second to none in our industry," said Lee. "Together, I’m confident they will help us take ABC to a whole new level."

Kubitz added: "I’m looking forward to joining the ABC Entertainment team. The network’s amazing programming and innovative approach to storytelling is exciting for viewers, myself included. It’s a thrill to participate in the creative process in an effort to better position the signature programming that so many hold near and dear to their hearts."
