Comcast Sells A&E Stake for $3.03 Billion

UNIVERSAL CITY: Comcast Corporation’s NBCUniversal has sold its 15.8 percent stake in A&E Television Networks for $3.025 billion to its joint-venture partners The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Corporation.

Following the deal, the two companies will each own 50 percent of A&E. The amount will be paid in cash and also in the form of a senior note issued by A&E.

Comcast acquired its stake in A&E Networks, which includes channels such as A&E, Lifetime, HISTORY, Crime & Investigation and others, through its acquisition of NBCU from General Electric in 2011.
