Plans in Place for New U.S. 3D Network

LAS VEGAS: Herbert Rossin, Richard Wharton and Elvin Feltner have announced plans for a new 24-hour 3D TV network, A3N, intended to launch in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2013.

The U.K.’s Ying has licensed its glasses-free 3D technology for use on the soon-to-launch channel. A3N will be comprised mostly of movies, with Feltner, who owns a private library of 4,135 titles, programming the channel. The network will also feature limited news, sports and reality programming. Rossin will be in charge of operations, and Wharton will head up advertising.

Following its U.S. launch, A3N is expected to roll out in the U.K., Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
