CULVER CITY: 3net Studios has added to its existing 3D and 4K original content pipeline, reporting increased demand from platforms and partners worldwide.

Principal photography has started on the 3D original series Turn & Burn, a six-episode reality series featuring El Reyes Garage in Venice, California, and Dark Secrets, an eight-episode show that uses fictional recreations of supernatural psychic events. 3net Studios is in the final stages of post-production on all-new seasons of Hillbilly Blood: A Hardscrabble Life, which is slated for simulcast on 3net and Destination America. On the ultra HD side, the studio has put three new 4K original documentary and natural-history series into development: National Parks Adventure, Metropolis and Made By Man.

“The global growth of 3D TV into the home increased by 72 percent in 2012, and we’re starting to see the impact of those 41 million new sets sold last year as consumers around the world look to their entertainment providers for compelling, original 3D content,” said Tom Cosgrove, the president and CEO of 3net and 3net Studios. “And with a 2013 forecast of continued dramatic 3D TV penetration—and now a faster than anticipated rollout of 4K—3net Studios is bolstering our current roster of original 3D and 4K production to keep pace with the growing demand from the global marketplace.”
