SEATTLE: Amazon’s first pilot season of the year is set to kick off January 15, with 13 original comedy, drama, docuseries and kids’ offerings debuting on Amazon Instant Video in the U.S., the U.K. and Germany.

Seven new comedy, drama and docuseries pilots will be available, including hour-long shows Cocked, Mad Dogs, The Man in the High Castle and Point of Honor, half-hour series Down Dog and Salem Rogers, and the half-hour docuseries The New Yorker Presents. There will also be six new kids’ pilots, among them preschool projects Buddy: Tech Detective, Sara Solves It and The Stinky & Dirty Show, as well as shows aimed at the 6- to 11-year-old demographic, including the animated Niko and the Sword of Light and the live-action titles Table 58 and Just Add Magic.

The pilots come from a wide roster of known producers, directors and showrunners, including Ridley Scott (Blade Runner), Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) and Carlton Cuse (Lost).

As with past seasons, service subscribers will be able to watch and provide feedback on the shows they want to see turned into full series. All pilots will be available via the Amazon Instant Video app on various mobile and connected devices, as well as online.

“We are working with great storytellers on some fascinating ideas for the year’s first pilot season,” said Roy Price, VP of Amazon Studios, which produced the titles. “We look forward to seeing our customers’ response to these new projects.”
