Zinc Media Group has confirmed that Greg Sanderson, its director of London Television, has decided to step aside from his current role to focus on making programs.

Sanderson, who will remain as an executive producer for Zinc Media, will take on a brief across all of Zinc London’s television brands: Brook Lapping, Blakeway, Films of Record, Red Sauce and the newly launched Supercollider. As part of this new remit, he will executive produce a significant part of Zinc’s premium factual output.

Sanderson was appointed director of London Television in January 2020. He takes up his new role on September 17, with the search for his replacement in an advanced stage.

Mark Browning, CEO of Zinc Media Group, said: “Greg has made a huge contribution to the recent success of Zinc Media at both a creative and commercial level. He has led our London and Manchester television labels through an impressive period of commercial and creative success while leading the teams through the most difficult of scenarios with Covid. His creative vision was instrumental in both the creation of new labels Red Sauce and Supercollider, and the refresh of our established brands. He steps aside from this role leaving the organization in very good shape. This natural evolution allows Greg to follow his creative passion and, at the same time, helps to retain his creative talents within the group, with a particular focus on premium factual.”

Sanderson added: “I’ve had an amazing time leading one of the industry’s most highly respected teams in premium television. I’m particularly proud of having helped launch two new labels, both of which have done brilliantly in the first year of their inception. My heart lies in making programs, so the combination of staying in a close relationship with Zinc and being able to pursue my own freelance projects is the perfect combination. Zinc has some incredibly talented people, so to continue working with them is a prospect that excites me enormously. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to follow what I love and continue working at Zinc.”
