ZDF Enterprises has signed deals with a range of EMEA broadcasters for two docuseries, including Rescued Chimpanzees of the Congo with Jane Goodall.

The first season of Rescued Chimpanzees of the Congo with Jane Goodall has been acquired by UKTV, BBC Studios in Poland and Africa, MTVA Hungary, France Télévisions, Česká televize, ARTE/ZDF in Germany and SRF in Switzerland.

Produced by Off the Fence Productions with the support of the Jane Goodall Institute for Curiosity Stream in association with ZDF Enterprises, the series centers on the mission to create the largest sanctuary for orphaned chimpanzees in Africa. The series is in production for a second season, which will focus on the sanctuary’s future.

ZDF Enterprises has also sold Ancient Engineering season one, which was picked up by a variety of broadcasters, including BBC Studios in Africa and Česká televize. Further deals with other major European broadcasters are soon to come.

Produced by Off the Fence for Curiosity Stream in association with PLANÈTE+ and ZDF.info, Ancient Engineering examines amazing feats of engineering from the ancient world that have influenced modern-day techniques. The series is also in production for a second season, which will cover topics such as the creation of ancient stadiums and deadly weapons and how gold changed the world.

Ralf Rueckauer, VP ZDFE.unscripted, ZDF Enterprises, said: “These two documentaries owe their success to the fascinating stories they tell—stories that engage a wide range of audiences. I’m delighted that they will be returning for a further series.”
