YouTube Greenlights Retro Tech with Marques Brownlee

YouTube has greenlit the docuseries Retro Tech starring YouTube creator Marques Brownlee that is based on his popular series Dope Tech.

Retro Tech, from YouTube and Vox Media Studios, will feature Brownlee unboxing, reviewing and showcasing vintage tech-driven products. The six-episode unscripted series will bow on Brownlee’s YouTube channel in December. In each episode, Brownlee will examine a different nostalgic product, from exploring its history and impact on society to its designers. The series will have YouTube creators, educators and inventors as guest stars.

A YouTube original special titled Retro Tech: Game Boy is currently available for viewing on Brownlee’s channel and sees him review the iconic Nintendo hand-held gaming device.

Brownlee, who has been uploading videos to YouTube since age 14, now has more than 8 million subscribers and over 1.3 billion views across his channel. He has previously partnered with companies such as Google, Beats by Dre, Tesla, BMW and RED.
