The Body Next Door to Bow on Sky Documentaries

Sky Documentaries has slated the premiere of The Body Next Door, produced by All3Media’s Raw, for August 11.

The three-parter follows a case that began in November 2015, when a human corpse with no matching DNA, fingerprints or dental records was found in the Welsh village of Beddau. As the intense police investigation unfolds and the villagers grapple with the notion that a murderer could be among them, a surprising suspect is identified.

The revelation of the suspect unveils a string of lies, trauma and hidden histories that challenge the village’s perceptions and supposed innocence of its inhabitants. The series then takes a shift to look at one family’s pain and trauma as everything they thought they knew turned out to be a lie.

The Body Next Door is a Raw production commissioned for Sky Documentaries by Zai Bennett, managing director of content; Poppy Dixon, director of documentaries and factual; and Tom Barry, commissioning editor, in association with All3Media International. It is directed by Gareth Johnson and will debut on Sky Documentaries and NOW on August 11.

The Body Next Door tells the incredibly gripping story of an investigation into a shocking murder but also the story of a community rocked to its core and a family sadly torn apart,” said Barry. “It is the exceptional storytelling from the team at RAW that takes the viewer down an unexpected path which makes it such a riveting watch.”

Keeley Van Dyke and Louise Norman, executive producers at Taw, added, “What started as an intriguing murder mystery in a small, tight-knit village became an international tale of deceit, abuse and violence. Thanks to the bravery of our contributors, some of whom are talking for the first time, we can tell the tragic story of how one murder can spin us back in time for generations.”
