Smiley Face Killers Docuseries Premiering on Oxygen

Oxygen Media is debuting its new crime docuseries Smiley Face Killers: The Hunt for Justice later this month.

Smiley Face Killers: The Hunt for Justice follows retired NYPD Detective Kevin Gannon and his team of investigators as they dig into a string of mysterious drownings first thought to be random accidents, but could actually be serial homicides. Appearing to link the incidents are graffiti smiley faces found near where many of the bodies have been recovered, and the similar profile of the victims—athletic, high academic-achieving college-aged men. Smiley Face Killers: The Hunt for Justice premieres on Oxygen on Saturday, January 19, at 7 p.m.

To this date, all of the suspicious drownings remain classified as accidental or undetermined and have not been investigated as possibly related crimes. Working with victims’ families and top forensic experts, Gannon and his team further investigate the incidents in hopes of gathering enough evidence to convince local authorities to reclassify and investigate these deaths as homicides.

Smiley Face Killers: The Hunt for Justice is produced by 44 Blue Productions, a Red Arrow Studios company, and indie studio Blumhouse Television. Rasha Drachkovitch, Jason Blum, Marci Wiseman, Jeremy Gold and Leane Vandeman serve as executive producers, while Julie Merson and Mary Lisio serve as co-executive producers.
