Sky Vision is set to showcase a number of true-crime shows at MIPTV 2019.

Four-part factual-entertainment series Famous and Fighting Crime invites celebrities to train as special constables, and then sends them out onto the streets to test their newfound skills. The celebrity recruits are partnered with serving officers and work shifts across units—from traffic to public order, criminal investigation and the drug squad. It is produced by Blast! Films for Channel 4.

Also on Sky Vision’s factual slate is the Blast! Films-produced Forensics: The Real CSI for BBC Two. The series follows a variety of cases, charting the journey of pieces of evidence from the moment of discovery at the crime scene through to their microscopic analysis, and shows the role the findings have on investigations. Meanwhile, Inside Midlands Prison, produced by Midas Productions for Virgin Media Television, gives a behind-the-scenes look at Ireland’s biggest prison and its inmates.

Produced by Jupiter Entertainment for TV One is Murder for My Man, which features the shocking stories of women who have been arrested for crimes they committed—robbery, kidnapping and even murder—in the name of love. Also produced by Jupiter Entertainment is Killer for Sky Pick TV and HLN. The one-hour closed-episode series explores the tales of people fueled by betrayal and vengeance to kill.

Sky Vision will also have on offer at the market season two of Murder, Mystery and My Family and companion program Murder, Mystery and My Family: Case Closed.

Barnaby Shingleton, director of entertainment and factual for Sky Vision, said: “True-crime series have captured the attention of audiences everywhere, and they will be riveted by a number of our new factual programs, from the famous crime fighters on the frontline of policing, to the shocking stories of women who have been arrested for murders they committed in the name of love.”
