Sky Vision has snapped up the distribution rights for the latest series from adventurer/explorer Levison Wood, tentatively titled Arabia: A Journey Through the Heart of the Middle East.

Arabia: A Journey Through the Heart of the Middle East will look on as Wood takes a 5,000-mile expedition through the Arabian Peninsula. Slated for completion early next year, the show is a co-production between Sky Vision and Wood’s Blackmane Media. Sky Vision acquired the international rights through Blackmane’s agent, Wolfsong Media.

Barnaby Shingleton, the director of entertainment and factual at Sky Vision, said: “This is Lev’s most ambitious series yet. It has a unique storytelling style and has global appeal. We are proud to launch this remarkable series at MIPCOM.”

Wood noted: “Traveling through the Middle East was my biggest challenge to date. It’s a fascinating place where the unpredictability and danger of war is contrasted by ancient cities and beautiful, tranquil landscapes. The journey was a genuinely moving experience.”

Jo Cantello of Wolfsong Media added: “We’re delighted to be working with Sky Vision, which has been a fantastic champion of Lev’s work from the very beginning. We can’t wait to share his latest epic adventure with audiences around the globe.”
