Sherry Fynbo Launches Last Word Entertainment

Beyond alum Sherry Fynbo has established Last Word Entertainment, a production and distribution company dedicated to “investigative storytelling that brings buried stories to light.”

Last Word Entertainment’s Mafia: Most Wanted, slated to premiere on Canada’s Crave, marks Fynbo’s first project. The three-part docuseries exposes the Italian criminal syndicate ’Ndrangheta and its hidden stronghold in Toronto. It features unprecedented access to police wiretaps, confidential case files and exclusive interviews with mob hitmen.

Mafia: Most Wanted is produced by Screen Siren Pictures in association with Last Word Entertainment and in association with Bell Media.

“The Mafia is no longer controlled by the Five Families; the real power now lies in Toronto and Calabria, not New York or Sicily,” said Fynbo, president and executive producer at Last Word Entertainment. “This Mafia underworld has long been hidden, and Mafia: Most Wanted is about to change that. Launching Last Word Entertainment is about that same drive: pushing boundaries, uncovering the untold and telling stories that demand to be heard. Mafia: Most Wanted is just the beginning.”

Fynbo has made a name for herself as a seasoned executive producer specializing in investigative true crime. Her credits include Drug Lords: The Takedown, Hunt for the Truth and Escobar Exposed. Previously, Fynbo spent nearly 20 years at Beyond Rights, where she played a key role in launching franchises such as Love It or List It and Highway Thru Hell and securing distribution deals with networks and platforms such as Discovery Channel, HGTV, Netflix and National Geographic.

Executive producer James Carroll is teaming up with Fynbo. He co-executive produced and lead edited Waco: American Apocalypse, co-directed the miniseries Night Stalker and served as co-creator and director of the Our Thing with Sammy the Bull podcast.

Fiona Crago, Fynbo’s colleague at Beyond Rights, leads business strategy for Last Word Entertainment.
