Last Word Entertainment Builds True Crime Programming

Last Word Entertainment has unveiled the Narco Mennonites launch date for Canada’s Crave to be January 16.

Narco Mennonites opens a hidden underworld that has never been documented on this scale,” said writer, director and executive producer Sherry Fynbo. “Gaining that level of access allowed us to tell an original story audiences haven’t seen before.”

The executive producers of the series are Nanci MacLean, Scott McGillivray, James Carroll, Justin Stockman and David Holthouse. Narco Mennonites is the first title between Last Word Entertainment and MEM’s new production partnership.

Narco Mennonites tells the true story of the Mennonite family that quietly transformed a rural Canadian town into the epicenter of a North American drug empire. The series exposes how members of a secretive religious community became entangled with cartel networks.

“This propulsive investigative series is an ideal project for MEM’s first foray into true crime factual programming,” said McGillivray. “We are delighted to work with Sherry and Last Word in bringing additional engaging projects to the screen.”

Last Word Entertainment is handling global distribution, with the series now being taken to international markets following its Canadian premiere.
