Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Prepping Hockey Doc

Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort has partnered with Score G Productions, Fennessey Films, Super Channel and OEG Sports & Entertainment to produce the five-part ice hockey docuseries The Great Ones.

The series will explore the journey of the Edmonton Oilers during their dynasty in the 1980s, featuring a cast of NHL legends. It will provide an unprecedented look at the lives and careers of the seven Hall of Famers to come out of the team during that era, capturing their triumphs, challenges and the indelible mark they left on the sport.

The Great Ones will feature unparalleled archive access and new interviews with the legends of the Oilers dynasty.

Emmy Award winner Austin Andrews is directing The Great Ones, which is set to premiere on Super Channel in winter 2027.
