Prime Video UK & Firecrest Films Team for True-Crime Docs

Firecrest Films is making six true-crime documentaries for Prime Video in the U.K. and Ireland.

The first to stream will be The Orkney Assassin: Murder in the Isles, landing on the platform this weekend, which tells the story of the 1994 murder of a waiter in an Indian restaurant in the remote Orkney Islands.

The platform also picked up The Hunt for Shannon Matthews, a two-parter about the 2008 disappearance of the 9-year-old girl; and Hunting the Tinder Predator on Christopher Harkins, which will launch later this year. Information on the final three will be released in due course.

Of the bulk series order, Firecrest Films’ Iain Scollay said, “We’re delighted to partner again with the brilliant team at Prime Video, and bring such a huge body of premium documentary work to Scotland.”
