LONDON: At next month’s MIPTV, Passion Distribution is slated to showcase nearly 200 hours of new factual-entertainment, documentary and entertainment programming.

Former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and a team of crime-scene detectives crack unsolved cases in the investigation series Cold Justice, executive produced by Dick Wolf. “These top-notch investigators dig into small-town murder cases that have lingered for years without answers or closure,” says Emmanuelle Namiech, the CEO of Passion Distribution.

In the three-part series The Art of Japanese Life, art historian and lifelong Japanophile Dr. James Fox travels the country, climbing mountains, sailing the seas, exploring the forests and temples, and visiting the cherry blossoms and cities. Passion is also presenting The Trouble with Dad, which explores the relationship between comedian and writer David Baddiel, his brother Ivor and their father, Colin, who suffers from Pick’s Disease, a rare form of dementia.

The factual-entertainment series Dr Christian Will See You Now, from Firecracker Films, looks on as the titular doctor helps patients overcome life-changing conditions. Another medical-themed show on offer is Don’t Tell the Doctor, from Arrow Media, which follows four doctors who treat young men and women relying on the internet or their peers for self-diagnosis.

Other highlights are Spies, a constructed docuseries; Black is the New Black, a documentary series; BBC Studios’ Handmade in Japan; and the docuseries Baby BallroomAm I Perfect? and That’s Amazing. Single documentary titles include Cannes: A Glamour Story, Chasing Dad: A Life Long Addiction, Iraq After ISIS, Scottish Bounty Hunter and The Boy Who Tried to Kill Trump.

Additional highlights include the first two seasons of All New Traffic Cops as well as the formats The Game of Dating and Window Warriors. There is also the ninth installment of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the comedy special Not Today Bianca, the sophomore season of Robot Wars, the fourth season of Make You Laugh Out Loud, the second installment of Find It, Fix It, Flog It, season 33 of Unreported World, and the second seasons of Lookalikes and Scruffts.

“We’ve secured talked-about, stand-out, insightful shows that range from human interest to crime and investigation to access-driven documentaries to a growing number of iconic entertainment franchises,” adds Namiech.
