New Nat Geo Docuseries Explores Putin, Escobar & More

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Later this month, National Geographic Channel is premiering Facing, a new docuseries that delves into the lives of modern history’s most influential figures, including Vladimir Putin, Pablo Escobar and Saddam Hussein.

Each hour-long episode explores the myths, legends and truths behind powerful headline-makers such as Hussein, Putin, Escobar, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Suge Knight. The series features interviews with people who have interacted with these individuals, as well as journalists and others who have been touched by their actions. The series debuts on August 30 at 9 p.m. with “Facing Escobar.” Other episodes include “Facing Saddam,” (September 6), “Facing Suge Knight” (September 13), “Facing Putin” (September 20) and “Facing Schwarzenegger” (September 27).

Facing is produced by Network Entertainment for National Geographic Channels. For Network Entertainment, executive producers are Derik Murray and Paul Gertz, and series producer is Roderick Bellamy. The show was directed by Adrian Buitenhuis, Steve Burgess, Miro Cernetig, Michael Hamilton and Murray. For National Geographic Channels, executive producers are Michael J. Miller and Kevin Tao Mohs.
