Netflix, Nat Geo Among Doc Emmy Winners

National Geographic’s Tsunami: Race Against Time won the historical documentary category at the 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards, while We Will Dance Again on Paramount+ landed a win for outstanding current affairs doc.

In the investigative documentary category, the winner was Netflix’s American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders. Outstanding social issue documentary went to PBS Frontline’s Two American Families: 1991-2024. Disney+’s Madu was honored in the arts and culture category.

Hunt for the Oldest DNA, an international co-pro on PBS’s NOVA strand, won for science and technology doc, while Nat Geo triumphed in the nature category for Paul Nicklen & Cristina Mittermeier: Win or Die. 

Netflix’s Buy Now: The Shopping Conspiracy picked up the win for business and economic doc. In the crime and justice category, the victor was HBO’s The Truth vs. Alex Jones. Best documentary went to The Sing Sing Chronicles on MSNBC.
