MagellanTV Hosts World Premiere of Atlas of a Changing Earth

MagellanTV has launched Atlas of a Changing Earth, an original 4K film that explores our planet’s evolution in the wake of rising global temperatures.

The 50-minute MagellanTV original sheds new light on the underlying dynamics of global climate change. It takes viewers into the process causing coastal glaciers in Greenland and Antarctica to melt and explores how rising seas could threaten coastlines worldwide.

Atlas of a Changing Earth features new images produced by a confluence of ultra-high-resolution satellite images and supercomputers to reveal the evolution of Earth’s climate to a degree of precise detail.

The film premieres on Thursday, February 23, on MagellanTV and will be available to all, including non-subscribers, through Thursday, March 2.

MagellanTV’s Atlas of a Changing Earth is part of a grand initiative funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to map and visualize our changing planet in new ways.

It is directed by MagellanTV co-founder Thomas Lucas and is a production of Advanced Visualization Lab, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, University of Illinois, Cosm Studios and Thomas Lucas Production, in association with Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, Ohio State University, Polar Geospatial Center, University of Minnesota and The Blue Waters Project.
