Kingdom Lands Presales Ahead of MIPCOM Launch

BBC Studios arrives at MIPCOM with several presales already in place for Kingdom, narrated by Sir David Attenborough.

The co-pro with BBC America has presold to Australia (Nine), New Zealand (TVNZ), China (Shanghai Media Group’s Dragon TV), Japan (WOWOW), Spain (Movistar Plus+) and the Netherlands (NPO).

The ambitious six-parter was five years in the works, with the Natural History Unit chronicling four families—leopards, hyenas, wild dogs and lions—in Zambia.

“The early international demand for Kingdom speaks to the Natural History Unit’s continued innovation in the natural history space, taking viewers to extraordinary places and telling thrilling, perspective-shifting stories,” said Janet Brown, president of global content sales at BBC Studios.

Kingdom sits on BBC Studios’ unscripted slate alongside Matriarch (w/t), Free Nelson Mandela (w/t), Civilisations: Rise and Fall, Rob & Rylan’s Passage to India, Pete Wicks: For Dog’s Sake and Nisha Katona’s Home Kitchen.
